Random - Puppy love, Mahalo style

I'm being a good girl and doing what @JasonCalacanis asked the bloggers to do!
Get an extra dose of puppy cuteness here - and make sure to leave a comment :)

Jason (if you ever get to read this), what are their names?

Random - What's your debut album?

I was organizing my bookmarks yesterday and hit this link that was shared by "someone" (whose identity will not be disclosed but will definitely recognize himself if he ever makes it to this blog - haha) sometime back.

Made me smile, had to share.
So... Ever wondered what your first album would be if you had a band?
Here's a quick/fun way to find out:

Step 1:
Go to Wikipedia (special) , then click on "random article"
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

Step 2:
Check out random quotations.
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

Step 3:
Go to Flickr and click on "explore the last seven days".
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Here's my *very successful* debut album:

I highly recommend wasting 3 minutes of your precious time on this little exercise - the results might be surprisingly good!

Note: If you end up being curious, I would love it if you could leave a comment and share the results :)

My album cover credits go to Kerry Pringle - who happens to be an excellent photographer.

Design - Nostalgia

I came across this chart showing the evolution of the Nintendo characters on Ffffound and had to share it.

I have a feeling all the web designers out there will look at it with a smile and remember the days when pixel icons/graphics were THE big thing - until the slick Aqua renderings became trendy.

The only detail missing is the inclusion of some kind of a timeline/dates - just for reference.

Buzz - Peek-a-boo!

With all the hype built around the new A380, it's worth having a sneak preview of the cockpit, in a 360 degree view rendering - Exciting!

Have a look here at the latest flying technology - in all its glory.

Random - Magic number #20

2000 visitors on my blog might not seem like a big number compared to others, but I find it very exciting.

And what is much more exciting than the number itself, is the fact that the visitor #2000 is someone from ... Twitter! - I'm happy.

Random - Magic number #8

I'm very impressed at the increasing number of readers - It might be considered as low for some, but more than enough for my ego :)

I like going through the stats of the site; Quite a bit of "exotic" countries are represented on the map of the users who visited the blog.

So again, thank you all for reading, and a big hello to the reader #800 (from India) who spent 40s on the site, and decided to check out the Digg Lab screensavers ;)

Random - Hallo-logos

A bit too late, I know - no need to remind me.
And I'm guilty of disappearing as well, but I previously mentioned that for some reason my RL managed to take over the virtual one.

Youtube and Twitter celebrated Halloween as well!
I like the efforts that were put into this subtle transformation :)

Did you get across any other sites that dressed up their logo for the occasion?
Let me know if you have screenshots!

Random - Magic number #7

I realized that I haven't been giving the "magic numbers" the respect they deserve :/, and I apologize for it - But I do have a good excuse; RL seems to be taking over my virtual life lately.

So Thank you visitor #700 for taking the time to read my WeeWorld post (in less than a minute) :)

*giggles*

Here comes the magic number again!
The "anonymous" visitor #600 spent 1m 7 seconds on the site, and out-clicked to check my Twitter profile :)

Thank you all for reading!

Google - Achievement

A Googler from the Googleplex itself landed on my blog!!! Finally :)
It doesn't do much for humanity, but as far as I'm concerned, it's pure happiness beyond all else.

Random - Magic number #5

I'm a bit late on this one as well (40 visitors past the magic number...), but I'm not going to break the tradition!

The visitor #500 is from the states, Pennsylvania to be more specific, and spent 11 seconds reading ;)

The traffic has been going up lately, and I find it very exciting - mega boost for my tiny-blogger-ego!

Random - Mr Tengu

Here's the latest really-cool-but-useless gadget coming straight from Japan - as expected, I love it, and I would definitely buy one if I knew where to find it :)

Mr Tengu is a little USB device that changes faces and depicts your mood depending on what type of music you're playing on your computer.

Thoughts - My iPod feature

That's it, I'm revolting against my incapacity of bringing my ideas to life, and failing to reach the right people hahaha :)

So here's another one of my random thoughts/ideas, that will never see the light.
I'm pretty sure that someone already thought of it, but not in my micro-circle, so I'm claiming ownership for it and sharing it with the world (maybe not the world, but my readers at least).

A feature I would like to see added on iPods/iTunes is "lyrics".
Yes, you heard me, lyrics.

I would like to have the option to instantly download the lyrics of any song on my ipod, through iTunes: It shouldn't be that complicated to tie-up with a content provider such as lyrics.com or any other site that list quality lyrics.

I should also have the option to activate the lyrics reader, and see the lyrics scrolling on my screen instead (or under) the "time" bar (or whatever the scroller that shows how many minutes are left before the song ends is called).

I'm sure this little addition will make a lot of people happy (Ezzat is one of them).

What do you say? Is anyone connected with some big shot at Apple? - I even designed the interface for fun, but am not posting it.

Let's see the power of web 2.0/social networking in action.

PS: You can extend the proposition to the Asian markets and turn your iPod into a mini Karaoke machine (they're big in Japan): hook it to your TV screen, and you're up for a wild night. Imagine having a limited edition of white Apple microphones designed...

OK...Enough... I know what you're thinking. :)

Random - More ice cream for sad people

"Dr. Whippy is a machine that proffers soft scoop ice cream according to the perceived unhappiness level of the customer.

Employing voice stress analysis of the user’s answers to specific questions, varying degrees of unhappiness are measured and the counteractive quantity of ice cream is dispensed: The more unhappy you are, the more ice cream you need".

Hahaha :)

Random - Stark with Fossil

Philippe Stark has been tying up with Fossil for quite a bit of time now, coming up with amazing slick/innovative watches (I'm the proud owner of the first one that was ever designed - thank you Ezz, I will never forget what you had to go through to find it ;) ).

The latest one that caught my eye is the O-ring Digi (it comes in different colors, but the white one is my favorite): "this digital style displays the time in a unique fashion. In a ring shaped display, the hours are displayed as numbers while the minutes are displayed in segments. As time goes by, the segments build making a complete ring every hour."

You can buy it online for 110$

And while you're at it, have a look at Stark's latest work here.

Random - Footloose

Footloose is every woman's dream come true :)

Marte Den Hollander designed a shoe with a high heel, that can be changed into a shoe with a low heel - which means the end of carrying an extra pair of shoe in your bag when you go clubbing ;) !!

The mechanism has been patented in 2006, but there is still no sign of an actual shoe being produced - which is something I don't understand given the fact that they would sell like crazy if they look good...

Get teased here.
